"Let God's Will Be Done"

A poem by Steven Pfister

Splendor all around me in my solitary seat
I see it raped and wasted in ignorance deceit
I see the laws of God, of life, thrown meaningless aside
And man alone does suffer so
In darkness does abide
Too long the truth of life has lain
Beyond the grasp of man
Time has come to give it back
Let love again command
Whisper words whose meaning
No intellect has known
Let man be taken deep within
And once again come home
Let life abound in glory
Let the sound of life be sung
Let heaven find its place on earth
Let God's will be done
